A little devotee singing the holy names

By Muralimohan dasa

ISKCON Latur conducted their first One Day Padayatra in the presence of Paramgati Maharaja on 5th April. This Padayatra started in the evening by the melodious kirtana lead by Paramgati Maharaja, with the attendance of 40 devotees. Kirtana and dance attracted the common public a lot all the way long. People used to slow down their vehicles and take closer looks. Some parked their vehicles and participated in our sankirtana.

The whole route of padayatra was lead for 5 continuous hours in almost crowded areas; few lanes were less crowded. At least five thousands people must have heard the holy names and nearly one thousand must have raised their hands and chanted loudly with us 3 times each, in total. “That was amazing!” Paramgati Maharaja appreciated this one day event.

Route : Town hall ground towards Gandhi chowk- Bus stand-Hanuman chowk-Subash chowk-Bhusar lane- Ganjgolai-Saraf lane- Gul market-Market yard- Kore garden, and ended at one congregation devotee’s house.

Devotees were distributing books and some of them were distributing pamphlets for ratha yatra festival which was being conducted on April 7th, two days later.

Book distribution score – Big books 15, Small books 35 and BTG 40. Matajis collected funds of Rs. 26000/- for ratha-yatra festival while distributing books and pamphlets.

Sundar Krsna Dasa expressed his desire that every month all congregation devotees can be engaged in sankirtana and book distribution. I am very much thankful to Sundar Krsna Dasa for giving me the opportunity to serve in this way and also thanks to all Latur congregation devotees for participating in this padayatra.
