Sankirtana-2

By Acarya dasa, All-India Padayatra leader

In mid-February padayatra reached Sardhar village in Gujarat, about 30km south-east of Rajkot. Sardhar has a huge Swami Narayan temple known as Sardhar dham, the management of which graciously provided us with very nice accommodation as well as groceries to cook bhoga for our Sri Sri Nitai-Gaurasundar.

Many students stay at Sardhar dham, where they are provided with free accommodation and food. In the evening the students joined us as we performed sankirtan, describing it as a different type of kirtan. We then went to the village market for sankirtan and upon returning to the temple performed Gaura-arati on the campus, and again the students were happy to sing and dance with us. After arati we distributed halva prasadam to the students and some of them took Srila Prabhupada’s books.

While we were at Sardhar we distributed forty-eight Bhagavad-gita, twenty-six Ramayan, and 150 small books.
