By the causeless mercy of Śrīla Prabhupāda, Guru and Gaurāṅga, the Punjab-Haryana Padayatra has joyfully completed two glorious years of dedicated service. The padayatra commenced on 29 July 2024 from the holy land of Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma. During its journey, the devotees also had the wonderful opportunity to participate in preaching at the Prayagraj Kumbha Mela. Since then, the padayatra has continued
its mission of spreading the Holy Name by travelling from town to town and village to village, inspiring people through harināma-saṅkīrtana, book distribution, prasādam distribution, and spiritual programmes. Under the guidance of Radhika Vallabha Dasa and the sincere efforts of the entire Padayatra team, this mission has continued steadily over the past two years. Their unwavering commitment to harināma-saṅkīrtana, book distribution, prasādam distribution, and village preaching has enabled countless people to come in touch with Kṛiṣhṇa consciousness. This milestone is the result of the collective service of every padayatri, volunteer, donor, well- wisher, and devotee who has supported the mission with dedication and prayers.
Over the past two years, the padayatra has walked more than 3,250 kilometers,stayed in 97 villages, and crossed 802 villages, carrying Śrīla Prabhupāda message to countless people. The devotees have conducted 22 school programmes, 47 house programmes, and 17 three- day Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam kathās in different villages, creating opportunities for people of all ages to hear the message of Kṛiṣhṇa consciousness.
The padayatra has also distributed 1,230 plates of prasādam and 3,260 drona cups Of sanctified food, allowing thousands to receive the Lords mercy. Along with this, transcendental literature, including Bhagavad-gītā As It Is and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, has been distributed, helping many people connect with the timeless teachings of Sanātana Dharma.
At present, the padayatra is serving in the Hoshiarpur (Doaba) region of Punjab and will soon continue its journey towards Jammu, travelling beyond Pathankot. With every step, the mission remains the same: to fulfil Śrīla Prabhupāda desire of spreading the Holy Name to every town and village. As we celebrate this two-year milestone, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to all the padayatris, devotees, supporters, and well-wishers who have been part of this journey. We humbly request everyone to continue blessing this mission with their prayers so that it may keep carrying the Holy Name to countless more hearts.
“nanak naam chardi kala, tere bhane sarbat da bhala”
Through the Divine Name, may we remain in ever-rising spirits; by the Lord s will, may there be welfare and well-being for all.
